Sunderland wore this light blue away shirt during the 2017-18 season, when the club suffered a second consecutive relegation, finishing bottom of the Championship after dropping out of the Premier League the previous year. Based on the Adidas Tiro 17 template, the shirt features white detailing, a woven Sunderland crest, an embroidered Adidas logo and the Dafabet sponsor in white and yellow. Simon Grayson began the campaign as manager before Chris Coleman took charge in November, but neither could prevent Sunderland's relegation to League One.
